I have always enjoyed photography but the need to work and family life meant that this was put on pause until shortly after 2000 when digital DLSR cameras could be bought for a reasonable sum. The digital approach has meant, also, that with software such as Lightroom one has a much greater control on the finished product.
Although the modern way is to display images digitally, I firmly beieve that they should be printed out to gain the full impact. Often I will create photo journals / books of longer trips.
Few of my images are pre-planned in the sense that I go somewhere with the prime intention of taking a particular image; rather, I prefer to wander and see where the mood takes me.
Generally I love mountains and water scenes which led me to an appreciation of Scotland (west coast mainly).
